KISS- Keep It Simple, Searchable

by Andrew McCaskey
KISS

Robert Scoble just posted a list of reasons that he thinks Twitter could soon have a value of between five and ten billion dollars. It points out the fact that Twitter obeys the primary rule for adoption: Keep It Simple (and) Searchable. That’s the essence of any online activity today, and Twitter and the emerging ecosystem follows that rule expertly.

Scoble noted that as he traveled around the world, it seemed that Twitter resonated more solidly with business users. Most were using Twitter to spam their followers – but no matter. The fact was that they had adopted it, were using it and refinement would come later.

He noted that Celebrities had moved to Twitter – and with some digging found that their agents privately told them that Twitter was the social networking tool that most celebrities could understand. Add to that the convenience of a mobile device and the ability to participate in quick bursts whenever the mood struck and receive instant feedback, and a star was born.

The final cog in the machine is search. Simple search, keyword search, hashtag, twitterfall, and an entire ecosystem of tools that can answer business questions, judge the immediate mood of customers and clients, and be reachable from the same mobile device — and you can see that Twitter is ready to be monitized at modest ($100 a month) levels.
