Video Extension for Joomla

The main presentation at the Joomla Chicago User Group included a review of Video extensions for Joomla by John Coonen, and an in-depth review by Joe Scarry of Arc Technology Group of the Joomla extensions that were applied for a commercial client, JellyTelly. JellyTelly is a commercial producer of family videos, made famous by the VeggieTales series that have been incredibly popular among families around the world for the past fifteen years – first on VHS and later on DVD.
Arc Technology Group worked with them in a total revamp of their production and distribution process, and the resultant management system, built as Joomla extensions allows for a far deeper user experience than ever before. After wowing the audience for 25 minutes, Joe dropped the bomb: The component will be released in the near future – for general use – as a “video content manager for Joomla” component. We can expect it to be released under appropriate open source license by the end of 2009.
