Looks like we are getting set up for the Techpodcast Roundtable for this coming Saturday. It will be good to have the gang together again, and we continue to express condolences to Geek News Central’s Todd Cochrane on the sudden death of his father in an automobile accident earlier this month – which postponed our normal Roundtable show.
I will have more details on the program later in the week.
No new videos today – just an observation that YouTube is one of the white hot areas of activity, as Warner Video just allowed some of their video content in exchange for sharing of ad revenue.
According to the WSJ, Warner Entertainment executive vice president for digital strategy and business development, Alex Zubillaga, said it has become impossible to ignore outlets like YouTube. “This is a phenomenon which kids have embraced which is only going to continue to grow,” he said. “We’re much better innovating and embracing this than trying to stop it.” Sounds to me like a pretty smart guy.
As noted in the other item on CNet , it’s disappointing to see some of the fast buck guys and the outright deceptive “smear video” slamming the products or practices of competitors appearing on YouTube. It’s sad to say that human nature will seek a certain level, no matter what the technology.
Item 3 – I have not been listening to Comedy Central, but I imagine that they are having a field day with the ability of the hotel mini-bar key to open those Diebold voting machines. Just to emphasize the point, I will again embed the Princeton Voting machine video on the site at SDR.com . If you have not watched it, you really should stop by and have a look. Recall that the hack does not only steal votes and spread in viral manner but it covers its tracks and removes itself as a part of the auditing process that is supposed to warrant its integrity.
