TPN Roundtable – Some More Info

Mobile again today, and the normal trade show cycle of floor duty, customer meetings and dinners keeps the time pretty limited.

A quick reminder concerning the Tech Roundtable this coming Saturday at 1:30PMPacific.

It is going to be a good one.

Here’s the challenge: Imagine that you had to organize 4500 photos realtime, each of 4MB size minimum, that need to be indexed at a conference, then keep track of the group photos and database and combine it into a Ecommerce system for sale over the next year. Then catalog, tag and print in a temporary conference situation. Oh,by the way, if you have time, add in a full cybercafe of lets say, 20 machines.. One other thing- you have about twenty minutes to make the system operational once the power switch is thrown. One of our presenters did exactly that at the International Music Festival Cybercafe, and he will explain how he set up the Mac Cluster to do exactly that.

The other section of the presentation will provide the inside scoop on the Perl Conference coming to Chicago the last week of this month.We’ll cover some of the details of that conference, and why YAPC – Yet Another Perl Conference is in its 8th year, and why it is still only $100 to attend.
