Thanks for Daniel Rairgh for his ongoing underwriting support for SDR.
Many of you may be fans of David Lawrence of the commercial and podcast David Lawrence Show and Online Tonight. You will be very interested in his comments in an inview with Rob and Dana Greenlee and Mitch Radcliffe at WebTalkradio November 18. I’m learning more about the significance of the Video iPod on the entertainment industry, the role that Apple may soon play as a major power broker, and in their words the “combination of intertia and momentum” by specific big players are setting up the most excitement in years.
Something new also at techpodcasts.com – an RSS feed for the program “Techpodcasts this Week”, which is published Sunday night and highlight some of the week’s coming attractions on the network. For the past six months or so, we’ve had significant time in the podcasts each day covering those events, and as listeners are able to add that subscription to their feeds, we’ll probably take less time on those announcements here. The link to the rss feed is this which you can click thru on the site.
Hello to Boyd Jones, who was finally able to add his pin to the SDR Frappr Map. Boyd works in Shenzen, China and travels frequently around Asia. He reports the “Great Firewall” blocks the web and some podcasts, and apparently was causing some of his Frappr posting problems. I’d hope that you will have an easier time.. and that you’ll be able to add your pin without difficulty.
Please take our Survey (at the upper right of this page). This is a critical part of the future of Slashdot Review. Thanks !
Back home, I am learning more that I ever wanted to know about the load sharing capabilities of the new Xincom dual WAN router – that is supposed to combine the Verizon and Comcast feeds at home into something faster and more reliable. The box is slowly being tamed. Now to get the VPN for the day job cooking.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Home Network Help Podcast Live Event with Christiaan Stout on December 3rd at 11:00 am PST. He will be covering MythTV building, setup, and configuration.

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.
A fan-site of note, courtesy of fellow podcaster Steve Holden of Tech Rag Tearouts and TechNewsRadio, and 100% legal: Jersey Boys Podcast.
I have also linked up the Portable Media Expo Keynote speakers from both Friday and Saturday directly from the Portable Media Expo so that once you hear our informal roundtable comments you can hear the full program.
