Saturday was the Live Event for Tech Podcast Network - and we participated from the Sands Convention Center.
The day got off to a rough start, due to battery problems with the digital recorder – changing AA cells while in a hurry and without good lighting – that’s my excuse..
The net was that fifteen seconds into the Tivo interview, an alarm, and two of eight cells burst with acid jell in the recorder power compartment. Fortunately, I was able to get it flushed with water promptly, and I will be on the line to Marantz next week to see what they recommend as corrective action.
The other mysterious outage was corruption of four files, all during the live event. Not sure if the problem was due to cellphone and EVDO card exposure, or if there was some other source that destroyed the files – or if it got inadventently turned on near to some other equipment when it was stored in the Wiley Publishing booth during the presentation.
Approaching the physical limits and good thing that the show does not last more than one more day.
Some interesting smaller companies today. We hope to have a least one of them on a live event for demo and questions.
Have a good weekend. Due to the length of the show tonight, I did not have time to prepare the regular news. Besides, it’s Saturday, my day off !..

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.
