WAAV – CES2007

Waav Airbox

The WAAV Airbox is a WiFi Hotspot for a vehicle – uses a Sprint EVDO card and then provides a regular WiFi box to provide access.

The most interesting aspect was a dual channel version – for example, where a bus company might use it to provide WiFi access to commuters.

Charge $5 a trip for WiFi access, and you could pay for this box quite rapidly.

I could almost consider this for personal use if I had an RV or attended events such as a trade show where I needed WiFi for coverage but it was not available from the trade show vendors at affordable rates.
