I bet that this airport lounge has sold more Verizon EVDO cards than any single business traveler site in the country.
This is going to either get posted through the t-mobile node at O’Hare or wait until this evening and get loaded up on the COMCAST connection from home. This is not for lack of trying.
The Massport system seems to be very efficient at taking credit card information, and less effective when it comes to handing out DHCP connections. It’s a deja-vu experience from the last trip to Boston. That trip, I had more time and decided to burn some cellphone minutes with the tech support who finally gave up and gave me a login account and password.
The $7.95 for the day pass this morning seems to be safely gone – as well as the twenty minutes or so that I had planned to grab a few images and prepare for the Joost portion of the Techpodcast Roundtable on Saturday.
No option or time to pursue that today.
I just hate to commit to EVDO if Sprint is really going to roll out the WIMAX network as quickly as promised. Plus, I am not sure that either one will be accessible from home.
This moves me one step further along the path that is going to make some rep happy at either Verizon or Sprint. Nobody is going to stop traveling through Logan airport because of this. But it looks to me like Verizon owes Massport some sales commissions.
The only one unhappy will be me.
