      Advocacy Run Amok

Looks like Slashdot and Digg both rose to the bait – a post on the NetNeutrality Blog with incendiary quotes attributed to Ed Whitacre, retiring CEO of AT&T.

As TechDirt discovered, the remarks were actually part of a send-up spoof of a video of what some imagined Whitacre might say. Three degrees of separation later, supposed “quotes” were circulating that were nothing but gasoline on flames on both sides of the issue.

As I’ve mentioned – the Net Neutrality is serious, if you have been following the Joost beta trial and packet traffic shaping that has occurred in the UK. The description of the SafeMedia Corp Clouseau network appliance shows how inexpensive that capability might be.

If you were a Congressman at that hearing, with Disney money in your re-election fund, what did you hear and understand about NetNeutrality ?
