If there is any doubt that a year after the Lehman Brother’s collapse that we are in a world of change – and a world of hurt if you are not able to respond to the change- look no further than the two items in the podcast today concerning the Cloud RSS adoption by WordPress and the reminder that in less than three weeks, 100,000 invites to Google Wave are going to flood the net.
With the flood will come a frantic search for business models within the frameworks of Joomla, Drupal, and WordPress that most online content providers depend upon, and a round of innovation that will upset the apple cart once again. Not literally, you understand – I expect that Apple will once again come out on top.
Small wonder that both Drupal 7 and Joomla 1.6 are being slow-rolled by their respective groups. The environment is too unstable to lock down products that are incremental releases and improvements on systems that are extensions that do not incorporate at least some of the new technology.
