Adding RSS Feeds to SDRNewsroom
by Andrew McCaskey
Expanding Feeds from SDRNews
As the coverage of events such as the monthly Joomla Chicago User Group, CES, and CMSExpo are added to SDRNews, there is a lot of content that listeners and viewers would prefer to receive on a portable device for later viewing that is not included in the regular show.
RSS feeds are, of course, at the heart of the subscription process for SDRNews and CMSWeekly. They will be found on the Upper Right column on the site, ready for iTunes or Zune subscription. It’s become more interesting to note that these are not the only platforms that listeners want to use. It was pointed out to me that I’ve not made it easy for someone using Juice or some other podcatcher to subscribe.
That’s not the intent.
You will start to see new feeds at the RSS Feeds Tab this weekend.
The first one to go up is the SDRNewsroom Special Media feed. Right now, I am planning to publish interview content from CMSExpo Denver – some of which has been published as video and some of which has not. You’ll get the word from time to time on the regular SDRNews and CMS Expo programs to let you know what’s coming down the pipe. There will be a mixture of audio and video, edited and backchannel.
Please let me know if it meets your needs.
