CMSExpo has been, in the words of a tweet from John Coonen, CMS Assocation Founder ” CMS Expo Day 1 = magically delicious. Thank you Anthony Ferrara for a speech that hit people right in the heart. Bravo! ” John is referring to a small talk that Anthony gave after dinner, before the Award presentions, which we will have on line within the next few days.
This afternoon, during the Q&A session there was one element that was so remarkable in the fact that no-one found it remarkable. From a conference in Denver, we had the large screen projector, on which was displayed the full “1984 Apple Ad” image of a realtime connection via Skype Video to a developer in Switzerland who was unable to travel to the conference. As the presenter discussed Community Manager with him, we were streaming that video live back out onto the internet.
Imagine what that would have required just ten years ago. Imagine that anyone could do that, (other than governments) 15 years ago.
Take Time to Take Notice – then move on. It’s one element that makes the Joomla Community thrive – but only a very small part. In the main, it’s the Anthony Ferrara’s of the world and the other Joomla founders that make things move forward.
