      Musion – Another Ticket Sold

      by Andrew McCaskey
The Musion system for holographic projection is all done with light and mirrors. And, it is all done on an industrial stage for major events.

The system is explained in today’s video – and is as close to the full sized illusion of the Start War’s hologram “Help me Obi-wan Kanobi” as we have seen.

But, with the YouTube details above, it will only be a few months before the latest edition of Make Magazine has the desktop version, and and acceptable version that is the size (and price) of one of those expensive Sub-Zero Refrigerator-Freezer units can’t be far behind.

What’s going to be the effect of that technology on business interaction and travel ? We are at the inflection point where the expense of air travel or driving forces the close examination of tools beyond desktop sharing or simulated conferencing (such as Alice Street).

It’s about time. And I bet that Apple is there with the premium version.
