Lawyers Run Amok – Ford Case

      by Andrew McCaskey
If there is any exhibit necessary to prove that lawyers and copyright laws are run amok in this country, you need to look no further than the article today concerning the actions of Ford Motor Company lawyers.

It seems a group of Mustang enthusiasts wanted to take photos of their members and their carefully restored cars – make a calendar – and then sell it on CafePress. Make a few bucks for the Mustang Car Club, and turn out a classy bit of memorabila for the members.

Ford Motor Company did not see it that way – and is pursuing them for publishing, without “permission” photos of themselves standing beside their own car.

If that isn’t a value add to the economy (pursuing legal action against the people in the photos) then maybe Detroit is even more clueless than we’ve been led to believe.

No wonder Silicon Valley types are pursuing electric vehicles.
