Firebrand Makes Hot Commercials
I have to admit I was as skeptical as the next guy when I read about the new media outlet whose business plan – for a video site – was all commercials, almost all the time.
The almost being the small amount of time where the “CJ” (sort of like a VJ on MTV) provides some easy on the eyes transitions from one commercial to the next. From time to time, they also provide an opportunity to download some non-DRM’d music if it appears in the commercial – all the more to get the tune into your head.
You would think that years of Tivo commercial skipping would pretty much make this business model DOA. After about fifteen minutes on the site, I was wishing there was some way to get the content up on the plasma in the family room.
There is something about well done, clever and creative content that cuts through even the skip-over speed on the Tivo. There have been many a time when I’ve intended to skip, and there was something about the commercial that caught my eye – enough that I would go back to purposely watch it.
That’s the sort of advertising that I saw in my first foray to Firebrand.com
