      Network Neutrality Heavy Hitters

As influential as the group of bloggers and net pioneers might be, I think that the Network Neutrality Squad at NNSquad will need some serious help from net users in general.

Without the ability to control content by scarcity of transmission capacity (as enjoyed by broadcasters for almost ninety years), businesses are going to be looking for a way to constrict the channel in some way so as to erect a toll booth.

Some have speculated that we will look back in twenty years at this period of time as the “Golden Age” of digital media, and podcasts (like this one) a luxury before it went all corporate.

You only have to look at the changes in the podcasting world over the past two years to see the saturation of public awareness over the “blog” of a politician – or his paid writer. Observe the “podcast” of a news reader of the celebrity stripe produced with obvious flair, professionalism and resources of many talented people.

The NNsquad will have their main value providing case studies and exhibits that the rest of us will have to bring to the attention of the political machinery in the US. That is where the battle for Net Neutrality is being fought, with some of the best financed lobbyists in history.

Net Neutrality is going to be a team effort, and the NNSquad will be providing the ammunition.
