iPhone Shortcomings for Business Users
Shortcomings in devices have a real way of wearing upon you when it gets tossed up in your face on a daily basis.
That seems to be the conclusion of the blog post one week into the iPhone era. While admitting that the iPhone is a 1.0 software revision, there were a number of curious omissions from the current iPhone design.
The most perplexing of these is the management of a simple to-do list. There isn’t one. There is a work around from the 37 Signals folks at http://www.tadalist.com/ .
Email- messenging shortcomings are close to annoying.
But the most significant of all is the dependence and lock in to a single network.
Michael Robertson has an excellent article published before the iPhone was released that raised a number of these issues: http://www.michaelrobertson.com/archive.php?minute_id=240
I suspect that it will sell a number of Nokia phones.

SPECIAL NOTE:
For the first time since October 12, 2004, I will intentionally not produce a regularly scheduled episode tomorrow July 12 (for play in North America Friday morning).
The reason ? My youngest daughter’s wedding this Saturday, July 14. With family travel, a Wedding Party BBQ, Rehersal Dinner, Wedding, Dinner, Brunch — my time is required elsewhere.
I plan to be back on the air Sunday night to resume regular episode service.
The forecast is for great weather in Indianapolis, and we hope that you have as good a weekend as we hope to have at this very happy family time.
