      Failed Business Models – Once Again

      The news item reflecting RIAA rumbles about over the air radio stations not paying their fair share has a ring of historical tone.

      The excellent book “Empire of the Air” – later a PBS special – had some discussion of similar disagreements between the recording industry and the radio broadcasters. And, there were even earlier roots of dissent between the beginnings of the recording industry and the pubishers of sheet music of popular songs.

      The struggle for business models, and the disruption of existing businesses continues.
