      Mobile Notes

Thanks for those who sent notes concerning the audio “sure can tell you are mobile” and “did you phone that in ?” . No, surprisingly, the production process is pretty much the same. Just amazing the difference between the normal Heil PR40 mic that I use at home and the headset BeyerDynamic that I use on the road and also for truly mobile events such as the coverage of CES. Add in a little more echo from the room, normally absent in the studio environment, and you will have a major change in the sound.

Still, it is an improvement over the Walmart $10 gamer mic that I used to have for these sorts of ventures. I guess that both of us have gotten spoiled – just a bit.

Work and conferences today and tomorrow, with a trip back to the midwest on Friday, and a very quick turn-around to go to Boston on Sunday. Mobile madness should be over in about a week – at least this installment.
