      MetaGenomics and Protein Folding

      You can’t get much further from my personal knowledge base than the news item tonight on MacroGenonmics, the idea that bashing DNA into bits and then reassembling the fragments by computer power is the way to improve microbiology. Yet the article- presumably fact checked pretty well by the Science Daily editors – claims that this is the most significant find since the discovery of the microscope,

      Even allowing for a little Public Relations enthusiasm, I think the microscope has been pretty important, and if it was outclassed by this new approach, I should take note.
