Been quite a weekend on the Vista front. I am not sure what to make of the various announcements, but it could have an immediate and severe impact on the US Economy – when you consider the number of machines that would normally be replaced in government, business and consumer settings. With both the government and business on hold, Vista could be well on it’s way to being consumer shovelware – looking good on high end systems, but offering little but underperforming Vista Home installs to the majority of consumers.
There are just too many flags going up in too many places to ignore this failure in the marketplace. It’s going to be a very interesting week to watch stock prices from HP, Dell,and Gateway to see the market’s interpretation of all this action in the blogosphere.
