The ‘Real’ Blooper Reel – CES 2007

Thanks to Hitachi for their underwriting support for coverage of the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.

CES 2007: A Few Mistakes Were Made

What a week ! I finished up the show as mentioned in the earlier post, and decided to get some well earned sleep – and made it to the airport at about 5:15AM. None too early for the press of crowds headed out of town. A little delay in that flight, but then on to Denver. Flying into Denver, we could see the heavy snow conditions down to about 300 feet. Add in a little more delay, and the flight to Chicago went well. That’s where the trouble started, as the ice storm that has made the news this weekend had already started West of Chicago, and they were busily engaged getting assets out of the O’Hare area.

It was a deja’vu moment, just like the last trip before Christmas and all of the bad signs were starting to line up. Two cancellations, and then firm word- no way the 9:05 will be canceled. That was all that I needed – it was time to head to the Metra Subway, and take the quick hike to Millennium Station for the last train to South Bend on the SouthShore. Made it back home about 1:00AM.

Meantime, Todd spent the day Friday pulling together a blooper reel, and found that he had enough material – with show footage that I had rendered and ftp’d late Thursday night, to make two video postings. The second will be up next week.

The unflappable Todd was able to edit the Cher comments into family friendly content in less than two hours. Seemed that there was some issue with the microphone that Todd used to solicit comments, and things quickly went downhill from there – but as you can see from Todd’s expression it was handled in an cool and professional manner.
It’s a recursive blooper reel: (You will see why) — Enjoy !
