I really should not try to do this work at 1:00AM. My apologies for the messed up audio on the show for October 11 -
purely in a fog and rushing the production steps.
Actually not rushing – just producing the show twice and finding the backup recording messed up so got to do it again. Here’s some insight:
I sent this to our QA team this morning – who had been chasing the Treo problem, and some id3 tagging issues.
I am still in flux on the new format and tools. I am teetering right on the border between hobby and professional tools and they do not mix well.
I am really disappointed having dropped $50 on Castblaster, only to find that it will not work with the Edirol UA-25 mic preamp/compressor. I could do this all in ProTools, but that is way overkill and the CastBlaster and Podcaststation programs are optimized for this emulation of broadcast cart machines and tape decks, and should be much faster if they would play nice. Last night I used PodcastStation, Propaganda and Audacity to pull things together – a real mess, plus a ground loop or clocking noise in the Marantz that is blocking that approach.
Quite obviously, the GoDaddy Ad insert got triggered at the wrong time (actually triggered at too low of a level at the right time, and then pulled into Propoganda a second time) – but shifted and I did not notice it. You will hear a blank spot in the audio where the spot would have been in the file.
Sorry for the poor production on Episode 2006-10-11 – appreciate your patience.
