Getting ready for the start of an exciting weekend and exciting week.

First of all, this weekend – Saturday at 1:30 Pacific, to be exact – we have the return of the TPN Roundtable. I’ll be offering some background information on the YouTube video experiment, Todd Cochrane will be back online with his continual stream of surprises and tech goodies, and provide an in depth discussion on the challenges of audio processing with Skype, local mics, landlines, video playback and the normal amounts of hum, cross-coupling and similar real-time conditions. One of our featured presenters will be Bwana McCall from Bwana.org, host of Bwana.org Radio. Bwana will be introducing us to endo: an RSS Aggregator for Mac OSX. That will be the beginning of a discussion on the tech news of the week, with comments from TPN Affiliate and Member podcasts, and then, time permitting, a roundtable discussion with listeners as well. You will have a chance to see GoToMeeting in action – and I think you will agree that it’s a fun and easy to use tool when you get handed the presenter’s virtual laser pointer and get to share your desktop with the group. We will kick off promptly at 1:30 Pacific, 4:30 Eastern Saturday, September 23rd. Details and sign up are found at Techpodcasts.com .

Next week, I will be traveling to the Podcast and Mobile Media Expo in Ontario, CA. There should be a number of Tech Podcast shows represented, along with our partners from Libsyn, Podtrac, and Melodio Mobilcast. If you are going to be there, be sure to send your contact info and cell phone to me at slashdotreview {at} gmail.com . I’d certainly enjoy having a chance to meet and speak with you – and we will just have to close that final 100 yards by a cellphone call.

Thanks go out today to Mike Chu, from Georgia for his video recommendation, now posted on the group site at YouTube.

You may recall AIBO and OSIMO as famous robot families – but the next generation – QRIO
from Sony put on some remarkable performances. Like many YouTube submissions, the audio leaves something to be desired. But by the time the little dance troupe finishes the third song, you really do expect them to be out of breath. More movies and technical details at the Sony QRIO site.
