I have finally found a way to attempt to keep up with at least some of the sites that are emerging on Web2.0 .
The site is called OriginalSignal.com. Original Signal aggregates the 15 most popular web 2.0 weblogs.and it is a basic compilation of the feed items fromthose sites. They are based in Amsterdam, and their avowed purpose is to
“provide a quick glance on what’s happening without using your desktop/web RSS reader.Original Signal was inspired by Popurls and the Web 2.0 Workgroup.”
The motivation came in a negative way, a humorous site that asks ” How Web 2.0 aware are you ? “
Turns out the answer was, in my case: not very .. I am slowly correcting my ways, and hope that eventually I will be able to retake the test and get the big Web2.0 version of the Easy Button to do something other than flash red.
That brings me to the SDR YouTube video for today, a well produced five minute tutorial based on the WikiPedia entry for Web 2.0 that offers a pretty good explanation to someone like myself who is not a card carrying member but is just curious about all the features that a knowledgeable web developer might include. The bonus video today is related to the news item concerning Microsoft Office Beta 2. – just so you can have the benefit of seeing the ribbon in action and deciding for yourself if it deserves to be canned.
If you find some interesting tech content onYouTube that complements the same type of news content that we cover each day – I hope that you will send along the URL to slashdotreview{at} gmail.com.
