Slashdot Review Podcast Group – on YouTube

    Slashdot Review Podcast

You just had to see it coming – the great video experiment.

With all those items this past week concerning YouTube, I just had to fire up the camera for my minute of fame, and as a result, there is a new group on YouTube.com .

First of all, it’s an experiment to see if they even let grey haired announcers put up videos on YouTube. I think that I have at least thirty years on most of the YouTube content producers, along with, as they say, a face made for radio. And like most such endeavors, the video almost takes care of itself while you keep fooling with the audio. Be it teleconferencing, business presentations, cellphones, conference calls, television, or almost anything to do with electrons while you are paying attention to the data or video or whatever, the audio sneaks up to bite you – usually not on the hand.

If you have some time this weekend and would like to cook up a short video of your own, upload it to YouTube and then drop me an email at slashdotreview{at}gmail.com .

I know that our new tech team is looking for a challenge, but this is not it. Peter and Dwight had no idea this was coming – and if something breaks because of the video experiment, we will pull it off the site.

If there was an item on the show this past week that you found particularly interesting, please be sure to mention it along with your name, city and state or country. Or, a shout out to fellow SDR listeners. The Pacific and Europe, in general, get first crack at the task the way things are published around eleven PM on the East Coast of the US.

If it sounds like I had a couple of hours of fun, you would be right.
