    New FAQ and Help Page

    by Andrew McCaskey
    Slashdot Review Podcast

New addition to the site . It’s modest but it’s a new Help and FAQ page for SDR. And, you’ll have a chance to catch a glimpse of two fellows who have been behind the scenes for almost two years. Dwight Illk and Peter Yorke normally keep the bittorrent feed under control but they have branched out to all sorts of Podcatchers. Listener report from Tom Westheimer this morning – once it got fixed “his Juice cup was Overflowing ” duplicate downloads with .mp3 and torrents torrent from august 4th to 16th 22 downloads in all. Not exactly what we had hoped for, but it’s only through reports from listeners that we get the word to start kicking things ! Looks like Dwight and Peter kicked loose a large chunk this time.

If you are still having podcatcher issues, SlashDotReview-Help{at}gmail.com. is your place for assistance - and you might get some hints as we expand the page on the site It’s on the right about half way down, just above the search box.

    On other matters.

This is not a video podcast, but you will see that almost every day this week there is something new in the video space – either in delivery or in content. Yesterday’s note on the rumor that YouTube will, within 18 months, post every music video ever made. The Wikipedia entry portrays this as a monumental task, but I get a sense not an impossible one.

How many years has it been since we had the TV ad with the salesman at the lonely desert motel being checked in by a terminally bored clerk who said “we have every movie and television program ever made”

Surprisingly, it’s been about seven years.

It’s just that the future is arriving in slightly different form.
