An interesting combination of articles surfaced over the weekend The first item, John Dvorak’s comments on YouTube.. With a 25 year reputation as a de-bunker of the latest enthusiasm I think he is slipping a little – joining the rest of us in a bit of enjoyment just for the fun of it. His point was – don’t worry about the business model for YouTube. Just enjoy it, be grateful that they have finally some up with a combination of technology that works, and marvel that over 100 million times per day, someone downloads a video clip from YouTube.

The second article was from the Wall Street Journal - quote “A new television show called “Jericho” has a small but dedicated group of fans, who’ve been buzzing about the show online. The reaction has been surprising — considering that CBS won’t air “Jericho” until late September. Viewers are responding to a leaked video of the pilot . . ”

The article continues : “In June, a TV pilot called “Nobody’s Watching,” which the WB network had passed on, was leaked to the video-sharing site YouTube. It generated enough of an audience online that NBC decided to pick up the show for development.”

In March of this year, our friends at “Church of the Customer” cited the fact that regardless of whether you like it or not, your product is most likely the subject of a video – . There are a lot of reasons that YouTube is superior to offerings from Google or Yahoo.

If you are on the business or technology side, you might ask is your commercial already on YouTube ? >
