I hope that you have had a great holiday weekend with friends and family. My extended holiday weekend started with the trip back from Seattle on Sunday – one of those up at 4:00AM travel experiences that keep you on edge the night before. I had a lot better luck returning than did Todd Cochrane – he ended up on an airplane that needed some repairs, and had eight hours of delay. Of course, there were all sorts of home projects saved up that consumed the Holiday on Monday and Tuesday. Not to mention some really good food.

On return, a quick scan of some items reveals that there’s a time sensitive item that you will want to investigate: Network Magic has a premium offer of 15% off through July 7th for the five PC package annual subscription. For a net of around $35. If this truly does enable smooth file sharing, network protection, remote access to your files as promised, it’s a good tradeoff for your time keeping five XP boxes configured. Plus, there is a handy menu set to let you know which features are known to work with which router, by name and model. It garnered a World Class Award from PC World magazine.

Secondly, one of our Techpodcast Members Norbert Davis, the Host – Norbtek.info Podcast
has posted an interesting show on security – Not the WiFi security flavor that you’d expect, but what you need for home security, what to look for in an alarm system and the installers

All sorts of new commercial models emerging in the citizen media world. Witness the item on eefoof.com , where there is ad revenue sharing, the new launch of Blubrry.com and other media announcements – I’ll speak to them later in the week.
