A few programming notes this week from the Tech Podcast Network .

As you know, the brief pause and station ID at mid program is for those listeners joining us through the 24/7 audio stream from Techpodcasts.com . A number of the TPN shows are to be found there. Of course there is going to be some repetition since some shows appear twice a week or weekly – but it’s a good way to sample the content on TPN and discover new shows from TPN Affiliates or Members.

You may not be familiar with a new member – the Antipodean Podcast - from, as you would expect Australia. Tech and Science news – in addition to updates on the political and regualatory climate in the land of Oz. Also old friends come back in new monikers. I am not exactly sure what prompted the change from the Braytech podcast to the simple and straightforward BO Radio podcast. Bwana McCall does stake out his own domain at Bwana.org – and once you know that BO Radio makes perfect sense. The old RSS still works on re-direct. Bwana lives in a pretty upscale neighborhood – when his local high school has a note about installing 3000 iBooks in less than three days.

Congrats to co-host Annette Thomson on a day job early morning server cut-over at 7:00AM this past Saturday. It that went so well it would qualify as a non-event. She did share the secret – Just work til midnight for two weeks prior, and success, too, can be yours.

Don’t forget that you can get Slashdotreview by email, with a built in flash player, arriving in your email inbox each day. Just sign up for the free FeedBlitz service on the site. Plus you can then forward that email, and introduce someone new to podcasting to SDR – without having to explain a thing.

The book that I spoke about on 3/2 is called “Amusing Ourselves to Death” .

The preface to the book gives a good idea of the basic premise, and specific comments on television. (Remember, this was in the early 1980′s .. the hundred channel universe was not yet revealed )

A more lengthy summary is found at WikiPedia.
Interactive Touchscreen Demo: a video of a really cool touchscreen interface – about ten times better than the Bill Gates demo at CES. Hard to describe, about three minutes long.

Now a really useful guide to Fixing Windows with Knoppix has appeared online,
a reprint of a chapter in the book Hacking Knoppix from Scott Granneman . You might want to plan ahead, print out the chapter and put it alongside a fresh burn of Knoppix STD when you get the call.

I came across Google SMS again today- a way to pull all sorts of useful stuff from Google with the fast SMS from your cellphone.
