Word of a new client release Version 3.0 Beta for Melodio Mobilcast, who is steadily adding cellphone types and carriers. Here are some of the new improvements: If the connection drops, the new client remembers where you were in the podcast when you return; folders for What’s new today, a Best of Mobilcast containing the most popular downloads that day, and full keypad control for player volume, fast forward, rewind, skip to next and so forth. All available for free download at Mobilcast.com

What do Libsyn, EFF, the 4-Cast Barbershop Harmony Podcast, PBS, Podcast411, the new TPN member podcast From the Director’s Chair and Ubuntu Linux have in common ? They are all displayed on the new WOB Badge Page at SDR — WOB stands for Word of Blog. As I was telling people about Word of Blog I kept saying, incorrectly WOM Badge as in Word of Mouth and before I knew the the name of the page had transmuted from WOMBadge into womBAT the small Australian animal.

That’s the sort of name that sticks, so the official name is the SDR Wombat page. Correctly speaking WOB Badge is a new way for bloggers to tag and display a badge of other blogs or podcasts. Ranging in size from the discreet Podcast411 to the Bumper Sticker from Libsyn, they are are kind of fun.

Plus Wombat is a lot easier to say. I guess because it’s from Southern Australia and if one of our listeners from down under can send along a photo of a wombat that we can use on the page, we’ll be off to a good start.
