TIVO is Ready to Rumble on Content
–by Andrew McCaskey
Hello to all the additions to the Frappr map !
Gary Rowswell Yeovil, England and Mike Turner Bristol, England ,Andrew Mill Perth, Western Australia JR Gandara Americana, Sao Paulo (Brazil), are some of the more exotic flags that have been planted, as well as Robert Casto and Dwayne Wright in Washington State. We spent a few enjoyable years at Steilacoom, WA and greatly enjoy the chance to go back to the Northwest.
A reminder once again on two recurring topics: This Saturday at 1:30 Pacific, another TPN Live Roundtable Event. This one will include some material and road tests on the Verizon EVDO high speed wireless network card, some info on portable devices and digital imaging from some of the specialty podcasts on the Tech Podcast Network. You can register on the links from SDR.
Please help SDR by taking the online survey. Thanks to those of you who have taken the time to click at the upper right sidebar and step through the survey questions.
I have reduced the amount of promotion details of other TPN programs in recent weeks, but there are a number of shows that have details of what’s coming up. Here’s a link to the Techpodcasts This Week, audio edition. OK, now I’ll make an exception to my new policy: Coming up later this week, the TPN program Perlcast is featuring an interview with Chad Fowler, the author of the book “My Job Went To India”. In the interview Chad discusses his experiences in coordinating outsourcing efforts for US companies. .. hear why you have already lost the job that you were hired for. I’ve put in a link to Perlcast just so you can catch that show, which is not up yet, but will be by the end of this week.
If you have a Tivo Series II, check out the roll-out of the TIVO Home Network Services that include podcasting, online movie ticketing through Fandango, and access to Live365′s hundreds of Internet radio stations. All the services are available to any broadband-connected TiVo user at no additional charge. If you don’t have a Tivo, check out your local Best Buy. Through the end of the month our local store is phasing out 40 Hour TIVO Boxes for $19.95. That’s right, less than $20. YMMV, but it may be worth a call to your local store.

If you happen to own a Motorola ROKR or RAZR, Nokia 6620, 6630, 6683, or the Sony Ericsson k700, s710 or k750i, then we think you should check out the Melodeo Mobilcast cell phone podcast player. Click here to view a demo and download the java program to your phone.
