I have learned to never dispute the results of a spontaneous healing, and to be grateful. It looks like the iTunes feed is once again working properly – and I hope that iTunes listeners are back on track, since there were a number of CES episodes that got delivered a few days later than I intended. The clue came from a message from January 3rd from Neil Waybright to a back-up email account which I rarely check, where he reported similar iTunes outages for a few days before Christmas. With the production and posting process unchanged over those days (admittedly mobile) it looked like the obvious errors that I removed yesterday might do the trick. So as they say, if you have to choose between being good and being lucky . . .

I had to do some Techpodcast Network admin work today where only a Linux box would do. As luck would have it, a dead power supply and ATX/ATX-1 form factor issues with plugs were enough to kill the existing white box. So, I had the pleasure of installing Ubuntu today on another one of those blazing 900Mhz Durons- one of the easiest installs of Linux that I have ever seen. If you haven’t tried it, the price is right, and I think you will be really happy with the results.

Especial thanks to those who have taken the new listener survey. If you have a few moments, please stop by SDR.com, where you will find it at the upper right. The Podtrac survey is a tremendous help in steering the content and commercial style, and as one listener wrote, trying to keep the signal to noise ratio high.

Working hard to get the CES material compiled into more usable form, but that project is going to have to wait for a few days.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.
