The last day of Holiday Mobile operation: Windstar Studios is replaced by a 2004 Mercury Montery, and we have been blessed with some great weather for the trip. After more than a week, it will be good to get back to the home base, and get to the bottom of the difficulties that have been plaguing the bittorrent feed since we left home. It’s been a frustrating series of events with database and RSS feed – the separate one for the bittorrent feed – and I hope that I will be able to get to the bottom of it quickly this week.

I hope that your Christmas holiday has been good . In true geek fashion, the hit at Grandma’s house was a brand new Roomba Discovery from iRobot. Our buddy Cisco was suitable suspicious, found that it was not particularly responsive to herding, and then finally decided that the best use of canine vacation time was to go back for a nap. Actually smarter than the easiloy amused humans in the household who enjoyed watching random search patterns and terrorized dust bunnies from under the sofa.

Just posting this, I find that the Roomba has an open API and begs to be hacked ..

I’ll have a few words later in the week on the new survey, and get caught up on Mobilcast, Frappr, and all the other stuff.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.

Thanks to Pete Murry of Laporte PA for a video clip that he posted as his photo on the Frappr page. Right next to Rob’s dignified photo. If you are a fan of the TV show NCIS, this is a DiNozo moment from the animal world. It is worth the trip to the page, watch the penguin carefully.

About a year ago I found a great WGBH Boston TV program that I have linked before about the music business called “The Way the Music Died” If you want to really understand why indy music is a part of SDR, take time to stream the program on the site.

Steve Holden, always on the alert, has forwarded a link for a snow blower that should be featured on an entire episode of Home Improvement. Binford Manufacturing would love this one: Bona Fide designed from the ground up around a big block Chevy V-8 : The manufacturer’s quote “.you¹ll never get bored with the job as the 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet V8 produces 412 horsepower, 430 foot pounds of torque and can throw snow 50 feet at just 3500 rpm . Plus heated grips and turns on a dime. Links and a photo on the site for those interested. Still can’t figure out how a podcaster in San Diego has such in depth knowledge..
