Mobile operation continues, as we had not one but two Christmas dinners (a bit early to accommodate some family members with other co-ordinated plans with inlaws and outlaws.)
Many of you may recall that I have been mentioning the importance of the new Podcast Survey on the site at SDR.com. Today I had an email from a listener – echoing thoughts from other listeners the past few weeks – on the type and tone of advertising that we have had on SDR since August of this year.
First of all, I really appreciate the feedback. I have conversations almost daily with various Techpodcast Network Affiliates on this topic. It is under constant review, and subject to current contractual obligations, being adjusted to improve the podcast with listener needs and preferences as one of the most heavily weighted factors in the mix. As this listener said in his email “I believe the medium of podcasting is still small enough that listeners can still help shape it. ”
That’s the truth.
Completing the Listener Survey on the site at SlashdotReview is the single most important contribution that a listener can make at this time. Both veteran and new listeners are welcome. As I have said before, this survey is really, really important in determining steps to be made in the new year. If you haven’t taken the time yet, please visit the site and go through the questions.
Secondly, your emails do help keep me on course, and I will try to be as responsive as I can. A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.

About a year ago I found a great WGBH Boston TV program that I have linked before about the music business called “The Way the Music Died” If you want to really understand why indy music is a part of SDR, take time to stream the program on the site.
