Quick reminder on the MythBuster’s item:
if you’re interested in hearing a audio interview with Adam Savage of Mythbusters, Chuck and Kreg of Technorama have one available at ChuckChat.com . Chuckchat is, of course, a member of the Tech Podcast Network.

Mobile operation continues : Today, a link up with SDR Weekend’s Annette Thomson and Mark McCrery of Podtrac.

Many of you may recall that I have been mentioning the importance of the new Podcast Survey on the site at SDR.com. Mark and I spent a good deal of time discussing elements of this new medium we call podcasting, and he offered several suggestions that we will be implementing that will, hopefully, add value to SDR listeners in the year to come. The survey is actually in two parts – one that looks at the sort of questions any organization would ask – much like the reader qualification cards in a technical magazine – and the second level for listeners who really want to become involved in establishing the shape of podcasting in the years to come. A number of podcasts are working with Podtrac, covering all sorts of subject areas. Your response will directly affect audio and video podcasts.

Both veteran and new listeners are welcome. As I have said before, this survey is really, really important in determining steps to be made in the new year. If you haven’t taken the time yet, please visit the site and go through the questions.

We finished up with a real time demo of the implementation of Melodeo Mobilcast – on the faithful Motorola Razr phone.
Still an amazing feat of real time compression with the progressive download that enables you to sample a podcast episode within maybe 30 seconds.
Don’t forget that there are Mobilcast forums for Motorola, Sony-Ericsson, and Nokia that have detailed instructions.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.

Thanks to Pete Murry of Laporte PA for a video clip that he posted as his photo on the Frappr page. Right next to Rob’s dignified photo. If you are a fan of the TV show NCIS, this is a DiNozo moment from the animal world. It is worth the trip to the page, watch the penguin carefully.

About a year ago I found a great WGBH Boston TV program that I have linked before about the music business called “The Way the Music Died” If you want to really understand why indy music is a part of SDR, take time to stream the program on the site.

Steve Holden, always on the alert, has forwarded a link for a snow blower that should be featured on an entire episode of Home Improvement. Binford Manufacturing would love this one: Bona Fide designed from the ground up around a big block Chevy V-8 : The manufacturer’s quote “.you¹ll never get bored with the job as the 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet V8 produces 412 horsepower, 430 foot pounds of torque and can throw snow 50 feet at just 3500 rpm . Plus heated grips and turns on a dime. Links and a photo on the site for those interested. Still can’t figure out how a podcaster in San Diego has such in depth knowledge..
