If you are looking for a real treat, there’s a photo from Frank Greco in Melbourne, Australia on the SDR Frappr page. It’s a good shot of Frank – but when you click on the photo you will see that it’s a part of a much larger photo – presumably restaurant or pub, at least eight people plus Frank, surrounded, as they say, by evidence of adult beverages.

The photo from Dennis in York, PA has a tremendous view of his cat. I’ll keep clicking to find out who else has sent high res images. Just remember you have to click along the row at the bottom of the page – the photos on the pins don’t expand, even if there is a higher res photo attached. Dennis is also asking for the K-Tel version of the SDR Garage Band Greatest hits: if that’s of interest, I’ll be glad to see if we can work that out with the folks at Garageband.com

Thanks to new entries from Erich Campbell in Albuquerque, Paul Talbot from Cadiz Spain, and Chris Cavs from New Milford, NJ.

Forgot to mention one more Tech Podcast Show earlier this week:

On the Mike Tech Show, Mike discusses some great Windows XP Registry Tweaks. He listed them all in a PFD file for you to download. Mike also explains how you can install and run Linux from a small USB stick. The procedure will take 5 minutes and you can launch Linux from within Windows.

Getting prepared here for a number of days on the road, so there will be a number of mobile editions of Slashdot Review in the days to come. On the positive side, this will be the inaugural run for the new(er) MiniVan. As you may recall, Windstar Studios got retired a few weeks ago, and the mobile facility is now a 2004 Mercury Montery minivan. The adventure will, of course include our Australian Shepard, Cisco who is our technical advisor on almost every edition of SDR. He even got a special bath and trim for the holiday trip.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.

Thanks to Pete Murry of Laporte PA for a video clip that he posted as his photo on the Frappr page. Right next to Rob’s dignified photo. If you are a fan of the TV show NCIS, this is a DiNozo moment from the animal world. It is worth the trip to the page, watch the penguin carefully.

About a year ago I found a great WGBH Boston TV program that I have linked before about the music business called “The Way the Music Died” If you want to really understand why indy music is a part of SDR, take time to stream the program on the site.
