First off, thanks to the patient Bittorrent listeners for tolerating the delay for earlier this week. I think that the feed is back in service.

I had an interesting message today from a listener, addressed to both myself and Todd Cochrane at Geek News Central : For all of the promotion that you have heard about Firefox, and the reasons to use that browser, as opposed to Microsoft Internet Explorer – this listener was really surprised when he went to one of our advertisers and found that the operation he was trying to perform “worked best on Internet Explorer”. In fact, the page would not even load in Firefox – and when he called to find out why, he got the standard response email and “have a nice day”. The more he thought about it, the madder he got – and tried to get some help from TPN. I’m pleased to report that when Todd contacted our advertising manager for TPN at that sponsor, they responded almost immediately. They contacted our listener directly, and addressed the issue. I’m not sure exactly how that situation was resolved, but the main point is this: If you ever have a reason to contact me concerning an issue with one of our advertisers, please do so. I can’t promise that I can help or resolve it in your favor, but I will promise that I’ll get your issue into the folks that we work with on a regular basis. I imagine that every TPN podcaster will be glad to offer the same assistance.

Hope that you will be able to join us for the TechRoundtable event at 1:30 Pacific on Saturday. The details are on the site, as well as a link to another new handset, the Sony Ericsson z520a, qualified for Melodeo Mobilcast.

Thanks to those of you who are taking time to fill out the new Podcast Survey on the site at SDR.com. Both veteran and new listeners are welcome. As I have said before, this survey is really, really important in determining steps to be made in the new year. If you haven’t taken the time yet, please visit the site and go through the questions.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.

Thanks to Pete Murry of Laporte PA for a video clip that he posted as his photo on the Frappr page. Right next to Rob’s dignified photo. If you are a fan of the TV show NCIS, this is a DiNozo moment from the animal world. It is worth the trip to the page, watch the penguin carefully.

About a year ago I found a great WGBH Boston TV program that I have linked before about the music business called “The Way the Music Died” If you want to really understand why indy music is a part of SDR, take time to stream the program on the site.
