Greetings to those just joining us from iTunes. Looks like the directory has been shuffled into some new categories, and we are once again visibile among all of the really big versions of commercial programs and video podcasts. (And thanks to Jackie Huba at Church of the Customer for the tip.) Jackie and Ben McConnell were just featured in US News and World Report for their work in promoting Customer Evangelists. Think Southwest Airlines, Build a Bear Workshops, and Crispy Creme Donuts. It’s easy, since they wrote the book on it.
Over at ODEO, lots of excitement. First (and this is one of the cool things about ODEO) you can see who listens to SDR and what’d on their list. But, the big news is that they have released their creation tools. I’ll take a closer look this weekend. If you are hearing this before roughly noontime Eastern time, there is still time to join the Home Network Help Podcast Live Event with Christiaan Stout on December 3rd at 11:00 am PST. He will be covering MythTV building, setup, and configuration.
Something new on the Melodeo Mobilcast site: A detailed set of installation instructions for the Motorola > RAZR V3 . Not only that, it also has details on how to manage episodes and how to share Mobilcast by sending the free program by SMS to a friend who also has a Motorola RAZR.
Installation materials are also there for the NokiaNokia 6620, Nokia 6630, Nokia 6682 and theSony Ericsson k700, Sony Ericsson s710, and Sony Ericsson k750i .
There is a Flash demo that explains the Melodeo Mobilcast at SDR – whereby you can receive SDR on any one of close to a dozen mobil phones just now making their way onto the market.
Thanks to all who have added their photo or comments to their Frappr pin. Richard Hand looks like he made it to Hawaii at some point in his illustrious career, and thanks to Drew for the toast. I am assuming that Brian Witt is, in fact, in Badger attire. Note also that you can send along a note to some of the SDR listeners who have opted into the Frappr mail system.
Don’t forget to register for the SDR FeedBlitz mail edition and take the survey ! .. lots to do for the weekend.
Melodeo Mobilcast added two new phones this week the Sony Ericsson w800 and w900. These are just some of the new mobile phone handsets that can receive SDR and content such as NPR, CNN, and a growing number of podcasts directly, without a subscription. I’ll get them added to the page at SDR where we keep the list of phones that can receive podcasts. Mobilcast uses progressive download so the podcast you select starts playing in about 15 seconds. There is a demo at SlashdotReview that will give you a 45 second class, and make you an expert, even if you don’t have a new phone .Yet. It is VERY cool.
Some other TechPodcasts of note: Tech Help Weekly begins a new 3-part series on the Asterisk PBX. They will show you how to build a full-featured phone system for your home or small business for less than $200. The Tech Help Weekly podcast at .
Only so many hours in a day? Check out the One Minute Tip. Each week this podcast cover technology tips to help speed you on your way. Be it applications, websites, cellphones and yes, even elevators. Photoshop Wednesdays now includes a video podcast. “Life’s short”

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.
