Today’s Frappr page pins are from distant locales like North Carolina and Mississippi. Thanks to all for pins and photos – plus if you dig down far enough, you’ll find a photo of Katie McCaskey, who created the artwork for the SDR site. Please don’t blame her for the site overall – that’s just about as plain vanilla WordPress as you can find. I’m speaking of the SDR Badge and artwork that appears on iTunes. Weekend Co-Host Annette Thomson is also on the page.

Two shows of note on the Tech Podcast Network

Thanks to those who have taken the time to go through the new Listener Survey. The original early survey this year that many of you completed earlier this year at Survey Monkey is helping greatly to determine of the content ideas for the New Year. The new survey is obviously professional, and is the baseline that we will be using to improve and qualify some of the services that we are considering. It’s at the upper right on the page.

It all adds up . Thanks !

Melodeo Mobilcast added two new phones this week the Sony Ericsson w800 and w900
. These are just some of the new mobile phone handsets that can receive SDR and content such as NPR, CNN, and a growing number of podcasts directly, without a subscription. I’ll get them added to the page at SDR where we keep the list of phones that can receive podcasts. Mobilcast uses progressive download so the podcast you select starts playing in about 15 seconds. There is a demo at SlashdotReview that will give you a 45 second class, and make you an expert, even if you don’t have a new phone .Yet. It is VERY cool.

Some other TechPodcasts of note: Tech Help Weekly begins a new 3-part series on the Asterisk PBX. They will show you how to build a full-featured phone system for your home or small business for less than $200. The Tech Help Weekly podcast at .

Only so many hours in a day? Check out the One Minute Tip. Each week this podcast cover technology tips to help speed you on your way. Be it applications, websites, cellphones and yes, even elevators. Photoshop Wednesdays now includes a video podcast. “Life’s short”

Please take our Survey (at the upper right of this page). This is a critical part of the future of Slashdot Review. Thanks !

Don’t forget to sign up for the Home Network Help Podcast Live Event with Christiaan Stout on December 3rd at 11:00 am PST. He will be covering MythTV building, setup, and configuration.

    Recent Links and Announcements:

A new addition to the site at SDR.com , an array of MobilCast Qualified handsets. The engineers at Melodeo run handsets through the mill and qualify them for the MobilCast service. The list changes every few days, as Sony Ericsson and Nokia enhance and obsolete various model numbers. I’ll try to keep it up to date.
