Big thank you for the birthday card and underwriting support for Slashdot Review from Rob Howard in Ontario. As you pointed out, not my birthday but really appreciated.
Speaking of appreciation – thanks to the listeners who have added their pushpins to the Frappr page at Slashdotreview – especially listeners outside of North America who must get the program at some really strange times during the day.
Great support this weekend from Podtrac, making some quick changes to the player that now comes on each day’s page, as well as the FeedBlitz email. For a few days there, some errant Javascript was not letting FeedBlitz subscribers play the current show directly. Also the Doppler problem was fixed, as I explained in a post on the site, actually due to the fact that Doppler does some good, clever things. Bittorrent subscribers continue in their faithful ways, through the services of Peter Yorke at DownloadRadio.org.
An excellent crowd for the Techpodcasts roundtable on Saturday. We had two guests – Doug Kaye from IT Conversations, and Mark McCreary, the CEO of Podtrac. Recordings of that event should be posted shortly.
We did have exciting news, though – that the Keynote Addresses from the Portable Media Expo are already online . Presentations by Doug Kaye, Leo Laporte, Jason Calcanis and others are available for download. If you were not able to attend the online event or the show, Doug’s Conversation Network is a must listen.
Mark gave a great overview of the services provided to Podcasters by Podtrac, and let slip that they’ve had over 10,000 listeners complete the survey, now being offered by several podcasters, and an excellent uptake on the second level advisory board,a chance for listeners to really make a difference in the future of podcasting’s direction.
I had a brief walk on and demonstrated how to give a goToMeeting demo from one machine when all your prepared material and the real demo is on another . Hopefully no damage done, and people will at least be curious enough to go to Slashdotreview.com and click on the MobilCast Network Flash demo – and see how it was supposed to look.
Next live event is December 10th. If you have a topic that you’d like covered, please send me an email.
