A few weeks ago I mentioned Tipmonkies.com ,which is where I found out about a beta called ScanR.com. ScanR works with your cellphone camera, and claims to convert a cellphone based camera shot of a whiteboard or printed page into a pdf, which is then mailed back to you. Well- as luck would have it, it turns out that the nifty Motorola phone that I just purchased a few months ago will not work on the ScanR.com service - not high enough resolution- VGA will not cut it, but those luck enough to have the Razr V3Vx with the 2MB camera will be in luck. Worth a trip to the site just to check the cellphones that do have the capacity.

He cites a book on his blog that sounds interesting.. Neil Stephenson’s “Diamond Age”
Hackworth was a forger, Dr. X was a honer. The distinction was at least as old as the digital computer. Forgers created a new technology and then forged on to the next project, having explored only the outlines of its potential. Honers got less respect because they appeared to sit still technologically, playing around with systems that were no longer start, hacking them for all they were worth, getting them to do things the forgers had never envisioned.
