Just happened to notice that Friday, October 14 was the one year anniversary of the SlashdotReview Podcast. So that puts this edition at around show number 315 or so, and perhaps 320 you include some of the music only programs that went out on Saturdays the first few months of the podcast. Until the day job responsibilities just said no way…
It turns out that, with the co-operation and support and encouragement of many listeners and active supporters over the past few years that we have been able to demonstrate the non-infringing use of bittorrent, and hope to continue to be able to do so. Long term listeners have hung in there through three server hosting companies, high bit rate, low bit rate, birdtests. Add to that the multiple mobile editions on the road or at conventions and trade shows, flu, a serious and scary health related incident and extended illness – all of which indicate that listeners are willing to hang in there through all sorts of good news/bad news scenarios.
We’ve grown, and hope that we have not lost too much of whatever it is you’ve found to be appealing when you first tuned in, as we’ve struggled to commercialize in a way that doesn’t break the promise of consistent content and format. The variety and scope of podcasting continues to amaze, and I thank you for your time, support, and attention each day.
