Amateur Radio emergency communication volunteers needed! Volunteers Needed” Clearing House Now Live on ARRL Web Site! (Sep 9, 2005) — The Hurricane Katrina Amateur Radio Volunteers Needed Clearing House now is live on the ARRL Web site. This database will be the primary means for relief organizations requiring Amateur Radio volunteers for communication support to list their needs. Additionally, volunteers looking to help may search the listings to match up their capabilities with the various requirements.
I am becoming very interested in the ODEO use of tags and the ability to drill back into archive content if you are trying to get up to speed on a specific topic or satisfy that curiosity that got you into trouble in the first place.
If you click on the ODEO front page for all tags, you can get a different slice of the podcast world, and then when one comes up it shows all the other tags assigned by the creator of that podcast. Sort of like pulling on a thread, just like you mother told you not to do.
If you go to SDR and click on the Current “Current ODEO SDR subscribers“. I can guarantee you will find something interesting there that you did not know about. you will be able to find the list of ODEO subscribers that listen to Odeo combines aspects of a podcatcher client with a social client like del.ic.ious or digg.com in the world of podcasting. What this means is that not only can you see who has subscribed to the SlashdotReview podcast, you can also see (and try out immediately) podcasts that they recommend.
Today’s SDR listener on ODEO.com is Teemow – lots of good podcast links, including the famous or infamous 2600 Hacker Quarterly podcast.
And, as they say “This just in” courtesy of Adam Rugel at ODEO, SDR gets to lead the Roundup this coming week more details on Sunday.
Congrats to TPN member Victor Caijao for show #50 September 7, 2005
