Delay in Thursday posting (about six hours)
Thanks to David Harvey of New Zealand, the early warning tripwire when the RSS feed was broken. A few adjustments to the iTunes tags yesterday did not go well, and there was a delay in Thursday’s program until, with David’s email help, I was able to put things back to rights.
The bittorrent feed continues to be down, pending disk drive replacement at one site, and conversion of another box to Linux this weekend. Target now is Monday, and that is going to be a long series of downloads for the faithful. The resulting build out is going to be substantial and robust.
Here’s another item of interest on the TechpodcastNetwork this week:
Techpodcast.com has technology and high tech career info. This week, Douglas E. Welch, host of Career Opportunities: The High-Tech Career Handbook talks about Perceptions and how they might effect your work and career.
“In a high-tech career, it is sometimes the perception of your work that matters more than the quality of your work. As disturbing as it might be, you can often be perceived as aloof, arrogant or incompetent, even when the facts don’t bear out that conclusion. Human beings are complicated and confusing animals so discovering what is coloring their perception of you and your work can be a daunting task. Still, unless you want to find a new job, you are well-advised to address any issues regarding how you are perceived in your company. Remember though, that perceptions that people voice often have no relation to what is actually bothering them.”
