    Two steps forward, one back.

All last week, we thought that we were converging on the solution to the quest — How to get SDR re-listed on iTunes.

As most of you know – I had a hosting outage July 18 that lasted for several days until I could re-configure to a new server. Very quickly we found out that our listing was gone from iTunes. It is gone from the Top 100 listing, gone from the subscription list, and gone from the charts – then in a “Catch22″ I was not able to re-submit.

SOme quick assistance from listeners and and the secret number at the bat-cave, and it looked like things were back on track, for the podcast, if not for the artwork. At least a by name search would connect.

That seems to have disappeared over the weekend.

It looks like … It may well be just a sign of the times..

In the on-line version of Business Week, Podcast David vs Goliath

“In one of the shortest trajectories yet for a new Internet technology, podcasting has gone from the hands of indie developers to media giants in less than a year. ” In Fact , less than a month.

An interesting read on how Podcasting (at least the iTunes top 100, is already the provice of ABC, FOX, ABC, NewsCorp)

The Business Week article did cite several emerging networks, among them the Tech Podcasting Network as a way that some independent podcasters have been able to keep in the game.

That’s one of the reason’s why I encourage you to go to Techpodcasts.com and sign up for the special event this coming Saturday August 13 - a chance to learn more about the technology both of podcasting and remote conferencing software, the best way possible – participating in a live event.

I hope that you will put it on your calendar, and give independent podcasting a vote of confidence this weekend.

Be sure to sign up for a live interactive TechPodcasts.com Roundtable on August 13th. Read the rest of this entry »
