You have heard DNS takes 72 hours to propogate . Belive it – I am still getting reports of some Comcast caches pointing to the old site last night, and I don’t doubt that there are still some remnants out there.
Some new directories that I have just noticed coming online. Thanks to PodcastDirectory.com , PodcastBunker.com, eTamp,net , DigitalPodcast.com, podfeeder.com, podnova.com, Podfeed.nl, Podcast.net, freematrix.us, for adding SDR.
Thanks to the folks at ODEO, and with luck, the iTunes directory will be restored, especially if some of the folks who are still able to receive SDR will go to the Apple forums and help me out in my quest to get relisted.
With all the troubles last week, SDR got pulled from iTunes. When I try to relist, the “Catch22″ is “RSS feed already listed in database” . Any ideas on how to break this loop will be greatly appreciated. The Apple forum link is at iTunes > ITunes for Windows > Podcasting. A few good words from listeners would really help.
Special thanks to Chris McIntyre at PodcastAlley.com for restoring our entry, as the genteel southern ladies would say around 1870, after the “recent unpleasantness”.
On a brighter note, I want to thank Daniel Rairgh and Kevin Korpi for their continued support for Slashdot Review. Their contributions go directly into ofsetting bandwidth costs and keeping the podcast widely available. The details are available on the site – in donation or subscription form.
Joe Burgess of the RootSmart Podcast at Rootsmart.com deserves some special thanks today for helping me settle into the new server with some professional advice from a real sysadmin.
New listeners: Welcome
SDR back catalog and current programs are also available for download using bittorrent through DownloadRadio.org, and for those who are both brave and determined (and using a podcatcher client such as iPodder or Doppler ) there is a bittorrent RSS feed as well.
About once a month, you will be subject to my editorial on why bittorrent is important. Fortunately for us both, tonight is not the night.
Don’t forget to check out Techpodcasts.com for other technology related podcasts. Over forty podcasts, in varying degrees of complexity and depth are a part of the network, Incidentally, the TechPodcastNetwork is first to announce network-wide commercial sponsorship, a milestone in Podcasting history. You can contact SDR at gmail.com for additional information.
