After the frantic week last week I am really looking forward to getting settled in on the new server and gradually adding capabilities that will make SDR more useful and interesting to listeners. Your patience is really appreciated.

The link to the listener survey is back up - new listeners will find that the format that we have had since the beginning last October- a ten minute summary of recent items from Slashdot and a single garageband.com song has had some fans and some not-so-enthusiastic listeners as well. That’s one reason that the song it at the end of the podcast, if for reasons of time or selection, you decide to take a pass. On the other hand, I have been amazed at the variety and quality of some of the music. This is not a music site – you can think of the song at the end as a ‘bonus track” for you to enjoy. The survey is there to give you a chance to let me know how you see the situation, as well as comments on the site or by email .

The Home Network and Computer Help Podcast, is just a few short days away from its second live event using GoToMeeting software. Christiaan Stoudt will be hosting the free event on July 30th at 10:30 am PST as he teaches you about SuSE Linux installation of SSH, log file monitoring and a variety of tips. And on the World’s Technology Podcast, tech correspondent Clark Boyd travels to Spain to look at the latest in electric cars.
